"Women Painting Women

"Women Painting Women," a group show of 30 women curated from entries of 400 Women from around the Globe will take place at Richard J. Demato Fine Arts Gallery in Sag Harbor. Opening reception takes place Saturday from 6 to 8 PM. The show will run through October 17.

LongHouse Reserve

On Saturday not-for-profit art museum, sculpture garden, and art education organization LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton will honor the careful craft and selfless service of two prominent horticultural leaders at its biennial Landscape Awards Ceremony. The event will be a hub of early-fall horticultural delight, as gardening buffs and enthusiasts alike flock to the art preserve's luscious sixteen acre East End property to celebrate the diligence, accomplishment, and gentle generosity of gardening legends Fergus Garrett and Warren Price.

Garden Lecture will begin at 10:30 AM at the elegant Hoie Hall at St. Luke's Church in East Hampton. Luncheon and Awards Ceremony will follow at LongHouse Reserve at noon. Gardens open at 11:30 AM. Tickets for both the morning lecture and afternoon luncheon are available on the website at www.longhouse.org.

Jazz Age

Jazz Age East Hampton (1919-1933): Clothes, Clubs & Contraband at the Clinton Academy Museum is on display. The East Hampton Historical Society has sourced over 80 images of life during America's "last fling" – from the local gentry to the famous folks that had already begun embracing the East End. 

In addition to photographs, they will create vignettes of period fashion, decorative arts and even display a 70 year old contraband bottle of liquor. A special section will be devoted to the Ladies Village Improvement Society (LVIS) Fair and the Maidstone Club. The exhibit will run through October 13.

Crazy Monkey

The Crazy Monkey Gallery features the art of Barbara Bilotta, winner of the 2013 Art Competition through September 29. Visit www.thecrazymonkeygallery.com.

Enchanted Impressions

Richard J. Demato Fine Arts Gallery presents "Enchanted Impressions," two floors and two solo shows. One floor is artist Andrea Kowch and the other floor is artist Phillip Thomas. The show runs through Saturday. Visit www.rjdgallery.com.

Fabulous Fish

Southampton Historical Museum and Research Center presents the art exhibit, "Fabulous Fish," sculptures by John Rist, Jr. at Rogers Mansion. The show runs through November 2.

Charlotte Park: The 1950s

"Charlotte Park: The 1950s," a selection of paintings by a close friend and colleague of Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner, will be on view at the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center through October 31. The works are lent courtesy of the artist's estate, by private collectors, and by the Parrish Art Museum.

Chuck Close

Drew Doggett

Award-winning photographer Drew Doggett will present "Discovering the Horses of Sable Island Photography Show" at Sylvester & Co. Home Store in Amagansett. The show runs through September 30.

Joel Perlman

Guild Hall in East Hampton presents Joel Perlman's sculptures, on display in the Frieda and Roy Furman Sculpture Garden. The scupltures will remain on display through October. Visit www.guildhall.org.

Herman N. Hynema

The Southold Historical Society will host an exhibition of paintings by noted 19th century New York City painter Herman N. Hyneman (1849-1907). The exhibit, entitled "Herman N. Hyneman: A Jewish Artist Rediscovered," will be on display in the Cosden-Price Gallery in the Society's Reichert Family Center in Southold through Saturday.
