Shop at Sunset
This year's "Shop at Sunset," a shopping benefit for The Retreat domestic violence services agency, will occur tomorrow between 5 and 8 PM along Main Street in both Sag Harbor and Bridgehampton and along Main Street and Newton Lane in East Hampton. Stores along these main shopping streets will provide music, snacks, or gifts—while pledging a portion of their proceeds from the night's sales to The Retreat. The event will end with a showing on a large screen of the family-friendly classic movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, at Herrick Park in East Hampton at 8:30 PM.
Guild Hall Summer Gala
The Guild Hall Summer Gala celebrating Chuck Close is on Friday from 5 to 11 PM. The event will include music, dancing, dining, and an exhilarating live art auction all held at the breathtaking Bridgehampton estate of Louise and Leonard Riggio.

Ellen's Run 5K
Ellen's Run 5K celebrates 18 years of leading the fight against breast cancer on the East End with its annual race/walk at 9 AM on August 18, starting and ending at Southampton Hospital. The Foundation is the principal funder of the Ellen Hermanson Breast Center at Southampton Hospital which serves the entire East End of Long Island where breast cancer diagnosis and mortality rates are among the highest in the state.
The race/walk starts and ends, rain or shine, at Southampton Hospital's Parrish Hall on Harrick Road.
Day-of-race registration is $40 for everyone. Pre-registration is available for $30 at www.ellensrun.org and at Parish Hall 9 AM to noon on August 18. Pre-registration for children and seniors is $25. Participants are encouraged to collect pledges from friends and family to help raise funds for the Ellen Hermanson Breast Center at Southampton Hospital and breast cancer patient support services.

Box Art Auction
More than 75 of the finest artists on Long Island's East End have again created memorable art boxes for an auction benefiting the East End Hospice. The 13th Annual Box Art Auction will take place on September 7 at the Ross School Center for Well-Being on Goodfriend Drive in East Hampton.
The silent auction will begin at 4:30 PM with a live auction at 6 PM. All proceeds will benefit East End Hospice, which provides care for terminally ill patients, their families and loved ones living on the North and South Forks of Long Island, including the Eastern Suffolk County townships of Brookhaven. The Box Art Auction is East End Hospice's only summer event in East Hampton.
Admission to the September 7 benefit auction is $75, which includes wine and hors d'oeuvres.
The public is invited to a free preview "Meet the Artists" reception at Hoie Hall at St. Luke's Church in East Hampton (18 James Lane) on August 28 from 5 to 7 PM. Prior to the auction, the boxes will be on view at Hoie Hall on August 28 and 29 from 10 AM to 4 PM.
