East Hampton Library's Authors Night

East Hampton Library will hold its ninth annual Authors Night fundraising event on Saturday at the Gardiner Farm in East Hampton. The evening's founding co-chairs Alec Baldwin and Barbara Goldsmith will be joined by honorary co-chairs Robert A. Caro, Nelson DeMille, A.M. Homes, Robert K. Massie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Joseph E. Stiglitz and over 100 distinguished authors.

The evening begins at 5 PM with the authors book signing cocktail reception under the tent. Guests will enjoy tastings from Swedish Culinary Summer and the Red Horse Market.

While enjoying the libations, guests will experience book signings of all genres with some of the world's most brilliant writers.

NY Times best selling food writer and Academy Award winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow will be on hand with her cook book It's All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great. Famed author Jay McInerney will sign copies of The Juice Vinous Veritas. Renowned artist Eric Fischl will sign copies of his memoir Bad Boy: My Life On and Off The Canvas. Grammy award winning record producer and music industry executive Clive Davis will be on site with copies of The Soundtrack of My Life.

Real Housewife of New York Kelly Killoren Bensimon will sign copies of In The Spirit Of The Hamptons, a photographic journey through the Hamptons. American journalist and political biographer, Robert A Caro will attend with his number one national best seller, The Years Of Lyndon Johnson: The Passage Of Power. For the foodies in attendance, Padma Lakshmi, star judge on Bravo's "Top Chef," will display Tangy Tart Hot & Sweet: A World Of Recipes For Every Day. And that's just the beginning.

Other featured authors include Katie Beers, Margaret I. Cuomo, Sylvia Day, Nelson DeMille, Kathy Freston, Charles Graeber, Katherine Holabird, Kitty Kelley, Lily Koppel, Robert Lipsyte, Robert K. Massie, Mark Mazzetti, Marisha Pessl, Kitty Pilgrim, Marcus Samuelsson, Lynn Sherr, Michael Shnayerson, Dava Sobel, Jessica Soffer, Joseph E. Stiglitz, Dr. Ruth Westheimer and so many more.

At 8 PM, directly following the authors reception, guests will be hosted at dinner parties at private area homes in honor of the guest authors. Dinner hosts include Mort Zuckerman, Michael Braverman, Julie Ratner and Sam Eskenazi, and many others.

Many fantastic raffle items will also be offered to raise funds including a five night trip for four to Stieg Larsson's Stockholm which includes private tours of the Royal Palace, museums, a lunch cruise and two dinners at the Stockholm restaurants of the chefs participating in the Hamptons as part of Swedish Culinary Summer. Other raffle items include home furnishings from Lexington Clothing Company, a 40 pound wheel of Vasterbottensost cheese, and steak knives by Mora of Sweden. Raffle tickets are just $20 or six tickets for $100 and they can be purchased on the www.authorsnight.org website. You do not need to be present to win.
