The Picture Show
The Picture Show at Bay Street Theatre, sponsored by Peconic Landing, continues with classic films this winter and spring. All films start at 8 PM. Tickets are $7 at the door and include a small box of popcorn. Dr. Martin Luther King
A screening of a rarely seen one-hour interview with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be held Friday at 6 PM, at the Parrish Art Museum. Copresented by the Parrish and the African American Museum of the East End, Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.: A Personal Portrait, was filmed in December 1965 in King's Atlanta home by producer Arnold Michaelis. The King footage was shot by North Haven-based cinematographer George Silano (the only living member of the original crew), who will introduce the Parrish program. Admission to the film is free. Bay Street Theatre is hosting its first ever "Unvalentines" Valentine's Day event with the screening of the hilarious War Of The Roses on Thursday at 8 PM. $10 at the door which includes a glass of wine. The film stars Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner along with Danny DeVito, who also directed the 1989 film.
