Wölffer Estate Vineyard Purchased

Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack has been purchased by Joey Wölffer and Marc Wölffer, two children of founder Christian Wolffer. The vineyard was established 25 years go, planted over potato fields.

"Our father's most enduring legacy was Wölffer Estate Vineyard and Winery, a passion which we are committed to growing in his honor," stated Joey Wölffer on Monday morning. "This year marks our 25th anniversary . . . It took my father years of hard work, creativity and vision to build a winery here, and we look forward to working with our team to continue to realize his dream of making world-class wines."

Marc Wölffer said of the 71-acre vineyard, "We welcome thousands of visitors to our tasting room year-round to share in the beauty of our vineyard and winery, and to discover locally-hand crafted wines. Now more than ever, we look forward to introducing more people to what my father built and to share our high quality wines as we continue our family heritage in the wine industry."

Joey Wölffer, an entrepreneur, is a New York native. She created the Styleliner, a luxury accessories boutique on wheels. Joey remains at the forefront of mobile accessories and is expanding the Styleliner brand nationwide.

Marc Wölffer's career expertise has spanned the international restaurant, real estate and winery industries. Marc currently resides in Palma de Mallorca Spain with his four children where he has opened three restaurants and is developing apartments. In addition to his wine investment here in the Hamptons, he also owns vineyards in Spain and Mendoza, Argentina.

One of the most visited destinations in Long Island Wine Country, Wölffer is an American winery with a decidedly European character. Marc and Joey both look forward to upcoming events to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the vineyard.
