This past week I had the pleasure of dining at The Coast Grill in North Sea. This cozy maritime themed, fine dining establishment, overlooking the pristine coastline of Wooley Pond, is a food lovers paradise.

The rustic New American cuisine brought to you by chef owner Brian Cheewing features some of the more creative and well-executed seafood dishes on the East End. Utilizing local ingredients, Cheewing has put together a wonderful menu for whatever you may be in the mood for.

Stop in for happy hour and enjoy one of their signature cocktails with a snack from the bar menu. Or sit down to a three course dinner and relax with one of the most beautiful views in the Hamptons. I had a delicious crab cake with a wild mushroom fricassee and a nice creamy mild paquillo pepper aioli. The crab cake was moist and light and perfectly seasoned. The mushroom fricassee added a hearty element to the appetizer.

For dinner I had the grilled gulf shrimp, the cannelini bean ragout was fantastic. I highly recommend it. The ragout can also be ordered as a side dish, which is the case for most of the entrée preparations.

After dinner I had to try the chocolate truffle cake with the cappuccino gelato. This dessert is pure decadence and a chocolate lover's dream. We were able to sneak in for an early dinner. By the time we were done the dining room was packed. Be sure to make a reservation.
